I think the toy is great! The cards give children ideas on how to play with the cup and ping pong ball which helps them use their imagination and come up with their own strategies.

Fun Birthday Gift, But...Jul 14, 2011

Got this for our son for his 7th birthday. Could have purchased the cheaper versions, but went for this more expensive version because it didn't have the creepy pictures of monsters or guys coming out of graves on the cup. My kids don't want anything to do with evil-looking monsters, so even though the headband and stickers are pointless, I paid the extra so my son could have a nicer looking game. He and my 8 year old son are having a blast with the game.
Here's my gripe about the game that I don't recall seeing in other reviews. In addition to making cheering and other "fun" sounds when they get the ball into the cup, it also makes flushing toilet and flatulence noises. Really, people? Does everything geared for kids have to include potty humor? Our family just doesn't get a kick out of that. I will admit that my boys giggled a little at the noises when they initially heard them, but that's not the type of humor we prefer to reinforce in our household. Had I known that prior to ordering the game, I probably wouldn't have purchased it. Will I take it away from my son? Absolutely not! It was one of his birthday gifts, and he really enjoys the concept of the game. I just don't know why so much stuff geared for kids has to be vulgar. We'll probably just be having more talks about how it's not nice to make "toot" noises. Thanks, Cuponk!
