has some benefits...better toys out there...Jan 01, 2007
By M. Ortiz As a bilingual family, we're always looking for quality educational and versatile toys. This toy is durable and has some nice features (eg: if batteries run out there are some items that can still be played with and enjoyed). However, it's very heavy and cumbersome and some of the Spanish letters/words are more from Spain or not spanish-sounding at all. I'd check this out in a store first to see if it's what you're looking for before purchasing.

nice bilingual toddler toyApr 26, 2010
By Beth Ortuno My son received this toy as a gift when he was about 6 months old. It is sturdy, heavy enough the child cannot really throw it (the death of so many otherwise-wonderful electronic toys) or use it to hit the cat, but it's lightweight enough a child barely able to sit can easily push it over to another side, and carry it around after learning to walk. My son has carried this thing around ALL over the place, and it never shows any effect of being bumped into walls and table legs repeatedly. The switches have held up to being moved on-off and spanish-english about a gajillion times it seems. My son is a little monkey and tried to use this as a step stool so if yours is sneaky like mine be aware of little items you may have put just barely out of reach (it's nothing against the toy -- after temporarily taking away the toy he decided to dump out the laundry basket or bathroom trash can to turn upside down & use for climbing). This toy was even heaved into a running shower once, but we just drained the water out and let it dry for a few days, and it's good as new. He is almost two now and just when I think maybe he might have started to outgrow this toy, he gets it out again and seems to find a new way to play with it.
what it says in SpanishApr 26, 2010
By Beth Ortuno Very sturdy and my son has been enjoying his for about a year and a half. He keeps finding new ways to play with it. It's too heavy to be thrown, but lightweight enough to easily push over to another side or carry around after learning to walk. My son likes to carry his everywhere and it shows no ill effects of being bumped into walls and table legs repeatedly. It even got heaved into a running shower once and we just drained it and dried it out for a few days, good as new. The on-off and spanish-english switches have also held up to him switching them repeatedly.
In Spanish:
When you turn it on it says "HOLA, juguemos juntos"
The little worm sings "el gusano en la maƱana siempre come unas manzanas"
The A-B-C side sings "ABC, Abecedario para aprender"
The side with various shapes and colors is pretty straightforward, for example the red star says "estrella roja".
That is about it for the lights and sounds. The words are easy to understand but there are not a lot of them. It is a mostly tactile toy. The other two sides make clicky-clacky and spinny-spinny noises (not pushing electronic buttons).
Good, enjoyable toyMar 05, 2010
By mav2006 This toy is designed for infants, so it does what minimal things it does without the sensory overload that a lot of other toys have, which just causes baby to get overwhelmed and discard the toy. The cube shape offers a nice introduction to spatial references, to encourage them to turn around the toy and explore all sides, and look for their favorite "game" on it. It is very attractive, solid and well-made.

Way over pricedNov 23, 2010
By Anywho My son never really cared for this toy. The toy was very overpriced. It was a total waste of money.
