My Mom got this for my four year old and she really loves it! She has a few other calico critter sets and another family. That family has "adopted" Camryn McKeegan and she often uses the extra outfits she comes with to dress up the brother into another sister. We both have delighted in the calico critters line. Very well made and fun to imagine with!

This was a gift for my 3 year-old niece. She absolutely loved it. I love all the Calico Critters items. They're all so cute and bring you back to more simple times.

The three year old girl I babysit has some Calico Critters play sets. She seems to really enjoy them. One problem I have found when playing with her is that when adding furniture to the critters' house, it is hard to see where you are placing it. Also, it doesn't distract her for hours on end. The house and critters keeps her busy for about 20 minutes and then she seems bored. However, the Calico Critters sets are very durable, cute, fun, and well made.

In comparison to the other Calico Critter sets, this is the least appealing in my book. It is a clothes rack (with a few extra clothes) and a stand up mirror. It also includes Camryn Caramel Cat. The 'magazines' are just folded paper and don't hold up well.
There is not much to do with this and for the price, there are much better Calico Critters sets.
A wonderful playset for imaginative playFeb 13, 2012

My seven-year-old loves Calico Critters and we've been collecting many of the families, furniture, and playsets. The critter dolls are well-made and the clothes look nice and can be switched with other critters in the range. Here, the playset comes with Camryn Cat who owns a boutique. I like this range of career type playsets (there's another with a store and also a dentist office, among others). This set also comes with a clothes rack, with clothes hangers for three dresses, so my daughter could have fun changing the clothes around with the other female critters she has. There's a little purse, a full-length tilting mirror, and 3 magazines. This set and others in the Calico Critters range of toys provides lots of ideas for imaginative play!
