My kids were able to paint a Breyer at a local toy store but since I was a grown up, they wouldn't let me paint one so I hopped onto Amazon and found these. They are perfect and the price was just right! I knew they would be as small as they are because they are the Breyer Stablemates so I was not disappointed with their size at all. The set comes with three "Horsey colors" and a handy pamphlet that teaches you how to do all sorts of different colors. I am very excited to paint my own Breyer Stablemates, all I need to do is just to pick the right colors. :)

These horses are really small but it didn't seem to bother my daughter. It comes with 3 colors: black, brown and white. If you want grey as shown you'll need to mix. The 3 horses were easy for my 6 year old to paint and when they dried, they looked like store quality paint. The box is so small, I'm not sure I would have purchased this in a store for the price, but overall if the kid is happy, I am happy.

The kids really enjoy painting these, but in my order of these and another set of paintable horses, about a 1/4 of them were damaged at some point.

I didn't pay attention to the size of the horses, so when i got the box I realized just how small the horses are BUT They are cute, the paints stay on and the instructions were precise. You could even go and buy more paint for variety of color...you only get 3 in the kit..which is fine...but if you want variety, go get some :) It's a good product and would make a good present for any horse lover.
