Kids will love it, but valium needed during assemblyDec 27, 2010
By James Anderson My two girls were absolutely delighted with this stable, once I'd finished assembling it. Ah, but therein lies the rub. Brace yourself for an hour or two of wall-punching frustration. If you don't have basic DIY skills, forget it. I'm guessing the holes for the screws were made by a blind man with a shaky hand and a grudge against parents. Add to this the fact that the screw heads get stripped by the slightest pressure and you have the perfect recipe for Toy Rage. Believe me, you'll want to put together some IKEA furniture afterward, just to wind down. If Breyer go out of business in the next 6 months, it will probably be due to all the biblical curses I called down upon them during assembly, while accompanied by the temper-fraying refrain, "Is it finished yet, Daddy?"
If my girls were rating this, it would get 5 stars. Two hours and two Tylenol later, I give it a forgiving 4.

Breyer Wood StableMay 04, 2012
By itseabitsea I Purchased this stable for my 8 year old grand daughter and 5 year old grand son to share. I didn't realize it wasn't painted (I am sure it stated so in the description, but I didn't read it close enough), but it turned out to be a fun craft project. She stained it, then we sprayed it with sealer spray. It was a fun day. You also have to assemble it as stated. My husband did that for us, so it was a fun "family involved day". The kids love it. They play with it all the time. I would recommend this to anyone who has children who love to play with horses or farm animals. My 11 year old grand daughter, their oldest sister plays with them to, when she has time. Great for the imagination, fun family "craft day".
