This is a great product. If your child is interested in playing with it and it is not being used as a display item. Be aware the unicorn tip is weak and will most likely break.

There's a special place in my heart for Breyer horses, having grown up saving my allowance for them and spending hours playing with them as a child. Now, as an adult, I bought this for "the next generation", a little girl who loves fairies and unicorns. True to Breyer form, it is a beautiful horse body, nice size, solid plastic. I'm pretty sure I recognize the body. It is almost, if not exactly, the same as the Breyer Black Stallion that I had as a child. I know Breyer reuses horse bodies, but I didn't care for all the choices in this rerun at first, particularly because the horn isn't that impressive and the paint is more of a spotted appaloosa-ish grey, which isn't what I think of when I think "Unicorn". It's beautiful, but not the white that I would expect of a unicorn so I have to readjust my image of the unicorn from the pure white. Once I do that, gosh, it's beautiful. The horn I usually think of would be prohibitively heavy, so this one make more sense, and a pure white animal wouldn't blend much with it's environment. The rendering of this Unicorn is really quite nice and would be a nice addition to a little girl's collection, I believe. I hope this review has helped you.

I just received my model this afternoon, and I must say that it is gorgeous. The shipping was prompt and arrived before the delivery estimate. There are a few little nitpicky things that I have noticed that could be better, but if you're buying it for a child it won't be noticed. I noticed that the finish is a bit rough on the hooves, legs and muzzle, but it's nothing terrible. The horn also seems to be a little off center, and more toward the left side of the horse's forehead than in the middle. Like I said before, it's nothing major, but being an artist myself I tend to nitpick.
The coloring is gorgeous, with the subtle dapples and lavender accents. She has a wonderful expression on her face, with big expressive eyes. I also like the Arabian dished profile she has. All in all, she's a work of art.
Those buying this for a child may also want to watch the horn, it seems a little bit brittle and may break if it is too roughly played with.

Bought this for my 9 year old daughter who loves unicorns. Very durable, detailed, and just beautiful. Breyer makes a quality product. Unlike most cheaply made toys today!!
