My Rachel is very artistic and was speechless when she received this. She sculpted it in one day and it looks great. She is only nine. If you have an artistic kid this makes a fantastic gift. I'm tempted to buy her another one.

My horse-loving 10yo just loved this; completed in less than an hour and now we've had to visit the craft store for more modeling clay to make matching mini's! Very nice kit. Wire armature was sturdy but pliable, clay was fairly easy to mold. Excellent results. Haven't baked yet, so she's still refining, then she'll paint. Would buy again.

Bought this for my nine year old grand daughter. She loves horses and also working with all of the mediums in art. She loves it! It is so grown up - she tells me. I was surprised at how little the model is but she doesn't seem to mind. I would buy her another to work with

I feel the need to share a few tips for anyone who buys this. If your clay gets too soft, stick it in a cold room and it firms up (great for when the feet dont work out). Also If you use the threading end of a needle, it makes aswome nostrils. I also learned that the small end of the tool when covered in clay makes wonderful ears. Overall this was a fun and easy project. I spent a week recerching breeds before I started mine. I would say this might be eaiser for a older child even though it says 6+.
