These horses were purchased for a grandchild (girl) who had her first horse stepped on and lost its leg. It is resistant to repair. So she is very careful with her new horses. These horses are not generally meant for really young children, but she was heart broken over the first toy incident. She is taking exceptional care with this one. These horses are meant for keepsake value. They are painted exquisitely and their forms are very good. It was well worth the price as the play value for her is great! Amazon does an excellent job of making sure that the right toy goes to the right child.

My granddaughter added these to her growing collection of Breyer's. She loves these horses and is an avid collector ever since she started horseback riding lessons some 4 years ago. They are a great well made product, even though they are quite expensive.

I just received my Warmblood mare and foal set, and I absolutely love it! The mare is almost the spitting image of "Joey," the young stallion in "War Horse." She would look just like him, however one hoof doesn't have a sock on it. Besides her utter beauty, the colt is also very pretty. However, I noticed he won't stand on my carpet, much like a different Breyer I own. Also, the mare's tail is bendy and the plastic is thin, so it may be weaker in the future and break, but with a little bit of super glue she should be just fine. Overall, this is a great set and I recommend it to any horse lover.

I bought several sets of Breyer mares/foals for my granddaughter for Christmas and her birthday. My daughter bought her the stallions. I hope she loves them as much as her mother and I did as kids. (I still have my collection, although they are bigger than these.)
