Description:

Like the original Blade mCX, the Blade mCX2 is easy enough for anyone to fly and small enough to fly just about anywhere. The mCX2 has the same coaxial, counter-rotating rotor head design as the current mCX, but it adds an extra shot of excitement with user-selectable swash sensitivity and flashing LED lights that are built right into the body. The pilot can change the control settings to enable this heli to perform at higher speeds than the beginner settings. This helicopter also boasts heading-lock like performance for maximum control. It also boasts more powerful motors and a higher capacity 120mAh battery pack. The mCX2 is the ultimate beginner friendly machine with unsurpassed stability, incredible control, and extreme durability. With a factory-installed 5-in-1 control unit with Spektrum 2.4GHz DSM2 compatible receiver, main motor ESCs, mixer, gyro, and fully-proportional servos come pre-installed. Freedom from frequency restrictions and great control are ensured with the MLP4DSM 4-channel 2.4Ghz Spektrum technology equipped transmitter. The Blade mCX2?s ultra-micro size and weight make it possible to fly this heli anywhere indoors. It all adds up to more fun than you ever thought possible with a coaxial ultra micro heli, whether you?re a newbie or a pro.

5BUY ONE!!!Jan 09, 2011

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2O2TM2U61QTDV An amazing piece of technology!

A friend bought me one for Christmas and I have been having a blast with this thing! I am 54 years old and have always had a dream of flying a toy helicopter around my living room. This thing is easy to fly, robust, and totally engrossing. I ended up ordering the tandem as well and have flown it all over the house. As a commercial pilot with 26,000+ hours in "real" airplanes, flying this thing in my living room adds another dimension to my aviation experience. Make no mistake: This is no toy. It is a remotely piloted air vehicle that is every bit as much of an aircraft as a 737 is. Truly amazing!!!

4Fun, probably not necessary if you have mcxJun 22, 2010

So, I ordered this a while back because I had an mcx and msr, and I wanted an inbetween for inside the house.

This has fast forward flight, a super-stable hover, and the little l.e.d.s they added are a nice touch. It's definitely something a beginner can fly, even younger children with a little supervision to start.

I compared the parts/frame of the mcx2 to the mcx and they look pretty much identical, the servo arms have a little "C" in the middle of them, I think that might give them a little more durability, other than that I couldn't really see anything else. (mcx2 5in1 has led plug) That being said the mcx2 feels like it's maintained it's hover "integrity", if you will, through more crashes. Have yet to really smash this, but I've bounced it off a few walls and whatnot, and nothing has broken.

I have noticed the flybar can pop off at impact, I'm not sure if this was done on purpose since the attached flybar would occasionally bust on the original mcx.

The mcx2 is a little faster in forward flight than the mcx1 if you switch the servos to the longer balls on the swashplate, also there's an optional (sold seperately) tail with weight sold for the mcx2 that can replace the current tail that makes it a little more maneuverable.

Other than that, it looks a little sharper than the mcx1, it's got a little white on the blades, the canopy is a little nicer (and clear), it's got the flashing l.e.d.s for flying in the dark. It comes with the same 1 pack charger as my mcx1 came with, with a slight update, this one has the option to hook it up with a wall charger (sold seperately) vs the mcx1's single cell charger was battery-only.

Overall, great first heli, lots of fun to fly, anyone can fly it, if you don't have an mcx1 yet, definitely get this one instead! If you've got an mcx1... eh, it's fun but not really worth the upgrade cost. (if you have an mcx1 just get a cusker mod and it'll pretty much fly like the mcx2)

5mCX2 HeliJul 25, 2010

The blade mCX2 helicopter is very light, well-made and very attractive to look at especially with the flashing lights.

The instructions in the manual are clear and get you flying quickly. It is fun to fly and flys very well. Great for flying indoors in limited space.

Also, the charger provided works very well.

5New "Best First Heli"Jun 08, 2010
By Russell S. Sobel
I have the first MCX, the MCX S300, the Tandem, the MSR, and now the MCX2. I love the new MCX2 better than the older MCX or S300 versions. The lights are awesome and it flies great. My only complaint is that when I went to adjust it to put it on the more advanced swashplate settings, I broke one of the balls at the end of the swash trying to get it apart. Since users are switching this often on these models, it's too bad that more durable swash connections weren't used. So just be careful if you go to adjust the swash settings. But even with this, I think this is now the new "Standard" for a first-time helicopter recommendation.

5Great Beginner HeliDec 30, 2010

This was my first purchase of a R/C helicopter. I have been hesitant on getting an R/C heli due to discussions in years past with R/C pilots on how difficult they were to learn to fly. After research online, I decided to "jump" in. WOW! the reviews were dead on. This is so easy to fly and very stable. Right out of the box I was up and flying around the house in minutes. No trimming needed. Easy to control and it flies for about 15 minutes on a charge. You can set the controls low enough that it is virtually impossible to crash. My 8 year old daughter did a succesful liftoff and land the first time. I would highly recommend this product to those of you wanting to get a first time R/C Helicopter. And to top it off, I received the order 3 days after placing it with Horizon Hobby thru Amazon.
