5Excellent Model HelicopterNov 12, 2010
By Aldo Caliz
This helicopter is really stable so you can hover it easily. Its like a bigger version of the mSR but I really find much more stable and easy to fly the 120SR probalby because its bigger size and better tail rotor response. Most of the time I fly it outdoors and its great, fast and agile but controlable. I now use the more "aggresive" setting on the swash plate so its more responsive when there is some wind. I'm really amazed how easy to fly is this model and the build quality. The rotors are strong and can spin on their base so they don't break easily.
Highly recommend this helicopter as a second model after having some experience with a coaxial model but it can be really used sucessfully as a first model because its great stability.

5Great Step up from CoaxialsFeb 12, 2011
By K. F. Bunton
The 120 SR is very forgiving, and a great chopper to progress to from coaxials. I've had it for a week now, and have learned to hover quite well and have moved on to more advanced maneuvers. I have tried to fly it outside, but it was too windy for my skill; a more experienced pilot could fly it quite easily in light to moderate wind.

The chopper is very durable, although it is not indestructible. I have broken a tail rotor and the landing gear, but both are available locally and on line at very reasonable prices (most parts are under 5 bucks). There are also several companies who sell upgraded aluminum and carbon fiber parts for these birds, so if you're into modding, you will not be disappointed.

A lot of sites compare this chopper to the mSR. I have flown a friend's mSR, and inside they handle very much alike, although you will need more room for the 120. Outside, the mSR is practically impossible to fly. The 120 has enough mass to be more stable in light winds, and with practice, I believe it could easily be flown outdoors.

This is not a toy, please don't buy it for young kids. It is very stable, but takes practice and dedication to learn to fly properly. In the hands of a young child, I suspect it would not survive long at all. However, if you are looking for a quality, durable hobby-grade model to learn fixed pitch single rotor flight with, I highly recommend the 120 SR.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1EDK2P9I088I7 This is a video of my brother and I flying our Blade helicopters for the first time. We both have the flight simulator called Realflight so we do have some helicopter time with this program.. The blue helicopter is the blade MSR and the Yellow is my 120 SR.

4GREAT TRANSITION TO COLLECTIVE PITCH HELISOct 08, 2011
By TSIU
First of all, this is NOT a heli for a brand new novice. Try the Eflite mCX2 for a beginning heli instead. With that said, I love this little transitional heli. I started this hobby about 2 months ago and had flown anything from a simple AirHog to a sophisticated Align. I now can fly the Eflite mCX2 and the CX2 very well. I find the SR 120 handles very well. It flies very smoothly and so far I have had no crash at all. But remember, when one is at this stage, you have to pay very close attention when flying this heli. If you do not, you will be reminded immediately. I speak from experience. I purchased a Walkera CB180Q collective-pitch heli not too long ago, thinking that I am ready for the collective-pitch experience. I was completely wrong. Because I totally have neither the experience nor the skill to handle such an advanced heli, I managed to destroy the unit in less than 4 flights. It now sits in my heli hanger as a reminder of how unprepared I was. I have to say though if you are in it just for the fun of flying an RC heli, do not buy this one. You will like the hobby more and enjoy the flying sessions by purchasing some of the finest Syma helicopters. Those units are really fun to fly, have really cool and realistic appearance and they are very very very easy to learn to fly. Of course, price is very nice. You can get one for less than $20.00 from Amazon. But if you seriously want to continue your journey into RC helicopter flying, this is will be the best heli, in my opinion, to introduce yourself into the world of fixed-pitch and collective-pitch helis.

5Blade 120 SR!!!Feb 04, 2011
By FOCUS_ON_THIS
Recently purchased the Blade 120 SR. Overall it is a great heli with one main flaw: The tail motors on these helis die very easily. I've contacted Horizon Hobby to see if they will send me a few replacements (I've gone through 3 in only 1 month of owning it). I am a rather aggressive pilot and love flying it! Would love it even more if the tail motors didn't die so easily. Great for flying indoors and seems to handle soft breezes nicely!
