Soothes, but straps too short, volume too loudSep 02, 2010

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R101E4S1RNX4GM We've been using this soother for a couple weeks now and our daughter seems to enjoy it. It definitely helps her to fall asleep. Even so, I'm giving it just 3 stars out of 5: minus 1 for the volume control, and minus 1 for the short rail straps. There are just two volume settings, both of which are kinda loud; they should have instead included a volume knob to allow you to adjust the sound more precisely. As for the rail straps, the geniuses at Baby Einstein apparently think everyone has a cheap crib with skinny rails. To the contrary, just about all the popular convertible cribs sold these days have thicker railings, too think for this soother. We had to mount it to our crib sideways just to get it to fit (see attached video).

This thing stinks! The straps are too short as previous poster said. It plays a chinese type music, which would be fine, but I figured it would be mozart or something baby einsteinish. Nope. No volume control. It is tooo loud. No option to mute the music. The remote needs something soft on the back so it doesn't bang on the door from the hanger. Returning this asap.

Couldn't get a full nights sleep without this!!! It is perfect to help my children go to sleep. I love that it lasts 25 minutes, with sound softening and lights dimming as it gets closer to turning off. I recommend this to everyone that is trying to get their infant to sleep in the crib.

Shipped fast, exactly what we ordered. The music last about 20 minutes...maybe a little long but I like that it gets softer and the lights dim as it goes...does go through batteries if you use it a lot. Nice product though, the baby enjoys watching it, I would recommend it.

"baby einstein sucks!!"
Baby Einstein s the worst musical soother that you could ever give to someone or buy for your child. I received 2 of these so called "soothers" and my daughter is only 6 months old. They don't sooth anyone or anything. The 1st one that I received as a shower gift only played the music but the fish didn't move. The 2nd one I received as a christmas present (09 mind you) and the light part that moves the fish crapped out, now it plays 1/4 of the song and shuts off. Forget the remote, that's a piece of crap too. I am very disappointed with Baby Einstein products. This product didn't even make 6 months, so you really don't get your money's worth. This product isn't the cheapest thing either. So, don't even think about getting this product for anyone that you know that is expecting. It will only make you look bad getting such a crappy toy!!!!!
