 Great Christmas Craft KitJan 30, 2010

This is a great craft kit with all the ingredients, very do-able projects and easy directions. My son was 6 1/2, and we worked together on the directions, but he could do all the steps on his own, making his own crafts. They didn't take too long, there's a good variety, the end result was always satisfying, and of good quality - we saved all the completed projects for next year's decorations. We cut snowflakes, made tree ornaments and a tissue paper wreath - I can't remember what else, but we have plenty of supplies left for next Christmas, all contained in a nice little case! I'll be excited to find it again next year and can confidently recommend it.

My 6 yo daughter wanted to have a crafty Thanksgiving weekend. I gave her this kit, and two days later she is still happily engaged. The supplies and directions are complete, she is doing the projects independently while we work on other projects in the same room. There are still many crafts to go, and she is not bored yet. I am thrilled!

I ordered this craft kit for my 5 1/2 year old twins boys who love art. We were very excited to get started on the projects when we received it. Here is what we liked about the kit:
1. Most projects were individually wrapped, thus contained.
A nice,organized touch that was appreciated
2. The kit contained a variety of fun crafts
3. Most of the crafts were very easy and quick to do and could be
done with minimal adult help. Just a bit of instruction up
front.
4. There were plenty of things to do for multiple kids.
5. Great sturdy box for housing the materials that can be refilled
or repurposed.
6. We loved the felt ornament sewing projects
7. The paper chain was also very pretty and is gracing my center
bay window in my kitchen.
Here is what we did NOT like:
1. No clear insructions or recommendations for most projects.
2. The paper for the holiday cards and some other projects were
rolled up tightly. There really was no reason for this
whatsoever. There was plenty of room for the paper to lie
flat. My exact words upon seeing this was "what exactly do they
think we can do with this? It's all rolled up!!
What were they thinking?" The boys found this quite funny and
silly and have found amusement with my comment and the state of
the paper daily ever since! :)
3. The tissue paper wreath was a great idea in theory; however not
in application. The peel away sticky side of the cardboard just
could not retain its stickiness for mosre than a few hours in a
dry winter home. Within 3 hours, half of the tissue balls had
fallen off. My son was sad to see he project in ruin and I glued
them on with some Elmers instead. They have stuck to date and
look just as great. I would recommend spreading a thin layer of
Elmers on your wreath before attaching the tissue for staying
power.
4. The christmas tree was just not as pretty and full as the
picture and was a tad bit sad looking. A paper cone tree would
have been better.
All in all I would recommend this kit. We had a lot of fun despite some of the design flaws. We also took out our own card stock, glitter glue pens, colored pencils,metallic crayons and pattern edged scissors to add to the contents of the kit.
