very disappointedJan 16, 2010 My house is my niece's second home. It's important you understand this, so you know why I bought it. Now, I got this same cup in a two pack from Kroger. It stinks. Evie can't get anything out of it. Now, she's 20 months old, but just getting into sippy cups. Stubborn that way. Didn't want to give up her bottle, then refused to use anything but the leaky straw cups... Anyway, I digress. Cookie Monster is her current favorite thing. So since we needed some more sippy cups, these were a no brainer. I figured that if anybody could make kids' products that worked, it would be a Sesame Street product. While it is leak proof as advertised, it's also drink proof. I tried drinking out of it, and could only get a few drops at a time. She spent the day being frustrated by it, when she's had no problem with other, traditional valve cups. I'm going to try puncturing the membrane a bit to help, because I doubt they're returnable. They're cute, but don't spend your cash on them. Now I know why they were such a great sale price at Kroger!
Almost impossible to drink out ofNov 19, 2009 Con: It's almost impossible to drink out of this cup! You'd have to screw the lid on dangerously loose, stick your fingers in both lid holes to open them up, and suck til you turn blue in the face. The result is a tiny tiny stream of liquid. Both me and my 2 year old tried it and had a hard time drinking from it. Occassionally the lid holes would open up just the right way to make sucking easier, but it's not worth the effort if the cup will only work 20% of the time.
Con: Damages easily. The spout is hard plastic which dings easily when dropped or chewed. I already have these rough plastic bite ridges on the spout after just 2 days of use at daycare.
Pro: Somewhat spill proof. A little bit of milk will come out of the air intake hole on top if you shake it upside down.
Conclusion: I wouldn't buy this cup again. I'd buy the Playtex Insulator (9 oz) instead, which I tried and was super easy to drink out of, and seemed extremely spill proof.
disappointedNov 09, 2009 I ordered this particular two-pack because my daughter had broken her red Elmo cup (and was very upset) and this package contained the same one. When it arrived there was only ONE cup in the package and it was NOT even one of the two shown in the picture. My poor two-year-old opened the box expecting her Elmo cup and was disappointed to find the wrong cup. I have never had a problem ordering from Amazon and I am hoping that once I return this we can straighten everything out. As far as the cup is concerned, I think that $5.99 is way too much for one of these cups. Also, be aware of the fact that there are two "layers" to the cup and the outer layer is not very strong and it cracked. I probably wouldn't buy these particular cups again except that my two-year-old is so attached to that cup that I'm crazy enough to replace it.
elmo cupAug 28, 2009 I thought I was getting two cups for that price. Turns out I only received one cup. It's way to much money for only one Sippy Cup.
Don't buy this!!!!!!!!Jan 30, 2009 Please note you will only get one cup!!!! Not the 2 cups shown. I will be returning mine and getting 2 cups at this price. A rip off from this supplier.
