Fun, but doesn't stay togetherNov 21, 2008
By RunMonkeyMama We got this as a gift for my son's second birthday. He loves Elmo, and loves playing with this toy. But the constructed Elmo figure doesn't stay together. The arms, legs and head fall off at the slightest careful touch, which is not something that most 2-year olds have mastered. So, while it's nice for creative play, it's frustrating for him to not be able to play with the finished product.

Very cute, but doesn't hold together well!Jan 01, 2009

We have a few of these building sets. They are all very cute! My daughter just loves them!
They are easy to put together, and you can mix and match pieces which is kind of fun!
HOWEVER, they don't stay together very well. Some parts and some characters seem to work a little better than others, but certain heads and legs and arms just don't want to stay put! This is somewhat frustrating. If you were to just leave them on a shelf it would not be a problem, but for playing this can get a little annoying... Bummer, 'cause like I mentioned a few times now, they ARE really cute!

Elmo Building SetJan 11, 2009
By Amy C. Daly I bought this for my 2 year old daughter and she played with it briefly, but than tired of it quickly. There is only one way to put the pieces in the box and if you don't do it right elmo won't fit - we already lost a couple of pieces.

Sheer DisappointmentOct 23, 2009

My son (2 years old) begged for this toy. He's a big Sesame Street fan and it looked pretty fun on the package. When we got it home, we discovered the parts DO NOT stay together. At all. We put on the legs, the head came off. We put on the body, the legs fell off. My son tried and tried to build his Elmo, and it finally ended in tears of frustration.
Please do not waste your money on this toy, or any of the other Sesame St. building sets. I had bought grover and oscar at the same time, and of course they all have the same connection problem.

Legs don't stay onJun 29, 2009
By just mommy We purchased this toy (along with the Cookie Monster and Ernie versions) for our son just under 2 years old. The toy is great for small motor skills and manipulation. There needs to be great improvement on how they stick together. The legs NEVER stay on and it is very frustrating for a 2 year old (and his 4 year old sister). It would be a great toy if they improved the way they connect.
