Best Infant Toy AvailableJan 14, 2009
By Melissa Watson This is the first toy our daughter was able to play with on her own. At two months she learned to kick the green hoop and start the music on her own. She loved seeing that her actions had a reaction. This toy can be adjusted for many uses as well. I picked this toy, because I thought the hard plastic would be easier to keep clean than similar toys made of fabric, and it really has been. It's easy to put anywhere, even in the crib (only when I'm with her, monitoring, though.) My daughter is now 9 months old, and she still loves this toy. She can sit with it as well as play with it as she works at pulling herself up. Honestly this has been the best toy we could have picked. Every infant needs one!

Innovative new toy for 3 months and upJan 30, 2009

The best feature of this toy bar is the rattle tether ball. When baby is first learning to use his hands, he can bat at this (almost like punching a speed bag) to work on hand-eye coordination. My son would do this for several mintues at a time when he was 3months old. There were few other toys he could manipulate well with his hands at that point so this was a favorite. The music is great and it's a very sturdy product. The down sides are that it's not as easy to adjust to the different positions/heights as I would like but at least you can adjust it as baby changes. The music note that baby is supposed to push to turn on music isn't that easy to do since little babies usually pull on things instead of push. However, you can put it on continuous play and there are other ways of getting the music started. I'm sure in a couple of months my son will love putting the tether ball through the hooop instead of just batting it - what a neat feature.

My son initially tried this at a neighbor's house when he was only 6 weeks old...he LOVES this toy. I went out to buy it immediately. He is now 11 weeks old and this is still his favorite toy. It keeps his attention (which is hard to do at his age) for sometimes up to 30 minutes. I definitely recommend this toy!

Still Using It...Oct 30, 2007
By Shelton I bought the caterpillar when my son was 2 and a half months old. I wanted something that would entertain him even though he wasn't capable of interacting with a toy just yet. We would lay him in the boppy underneath it and he would watch the lights and listen to the music. He really enjoyed it. We joked that it was his first playstation. He would kick at the ball and star. When he got a little bigger, and was reaching for toys, he would grab at the toys and turn the music on with his feet. Then he got bored with it for a while. Now he is 7 months old and sitting up unassisted. I pulled it back out for the first time in about a month, and raised it up. Now he sits in front of it and is enjoying it at a whole new level.
So, we've had the toy for 5 months now, and it was unused for 1 month. For those 4 months, he played with it on a daily basis. And you know, I have never changed the batteries on that thing! Overall, we're pretty happy with it.

Great ProductJun 19, 2007

My 5 1/2 month old baby girl loves this contraption! She is just starting to be able to sit up on her own and this toy really encourages her to keep her balance. It distracts her from concentrating on trying to balance and lets her play. She loves all the colors and sounds, she can't keep her hands off of it!!
