OK, but the lanyard smells awful!Dec 21, 2009
By Violet My 5 year old daughter just got this for a holiday present and she was really excited to play with it. But, when I opened the box of beads, the fumes from the plastic lanyard was overpowering. I had to take it out of the room because it smelled so bad. I am worried what my daughter is breathing in. I would rather there be more string than plastic lanyard for stringing, but the strings fray at the ends which make it hard to push through the beads. We love the letter beads, but there is only 1 of each letter, so if your name has more than one particular letter, prepare to be disappointed. Also, the hole for the"N" is in the wrong place, so if you string it, it becomes a "Z". I thought my daughter would play with this for hours, but after one bracelet, she got bored and put it away. I think I have to put the lanyard outside for a week so the smell will go away.

This is a great gift for children who love crafts. Lots of colors and easy to use. Great for children to learn imagination and creativity.

Great toy for little girlsJan 02, 2008

I bought this product originally for my daughter, age 4, for her birthday, and she liked it so much we got it for her best friend's birthday (also 4) two weeks later! What's so interesting is that my six-year-old son also enjoyed making "cool" necklaces with it. It greatly helped with fine motor skills but mostly was great fun.
not happyMar 24, 2011
By C. Ligh the materials used in this toy are not very durable. the beginning beader has trouble with some of the thinner beads breaking while putting the string through. the thicker string and the thicker beads work best. so far, my grandchildren have not been excited about this product. also, the container is not reusable as stated. i had to separate every one of the different beads and put them in plastic bags. then i had to put all the bags in a shoe box. it's another good idea, but it needs to be improved.
Great to Have for a Rainy Day!May 01, 2010
By Sara I am a Nanny for several kids. The oldest two are 5 and 2.5 years old. I bought this for days where they couldn't play outside. It has come in handy. The larger foam beads are great for the 2.5 year old to handle. She doesn't even realize she is learning while she is having fun. It is great for gaining that hand-eye coordination. The only problem I have with he is that the holes are a little small which isn't a problem for the solid beads but when she comes across the beads where they have to feed it in several holes (like the letter O) she gets frustrated. She is at the age where she wants to do it without help but she ends up jamming up the plastic hollow string to the point of no return. All in all this is a great project and it really brings the girls together.
