5Annie and Clarabel wins a grandson's heart!Jan 12, 2007
By Barbara Feldman
This gift was a big hit for our grandson as he had been asking for these particular cars for months. Apparently, they had not been manufactured for a while.

Made of steel, they are able to take abuse from a toddler yet still are easy to maneuver. We expect they'll become heirlooms, along with other Thomas the Train cars. These kinds of toys help develop fine motor skills, encourage imaginary play, and hold up exceedingly well.

3Nice train but wrong setJul 23, 2008

Don't confuse the "Take Along Thomas" with the "Wooden Railway" set as I did. "Take Along" is medal with a narrower guage track than the "Wooden Railway" set.

My three year old has two Thomas engines and no coaches. He REALLY wanted Annie & Clarabel. Now Thomas has the right coaches to pull. He's a happy boy. :)

Annie and Clarabel appear in many if not most stories and videos. They "belong" to Thomas so to speak and should be part of the core group of any Thomas collection.

3Don't fit on the wooden Thomas tracksApr 11, 2010
By N. Fine "whelephant"
I didn't realize these are a different type of Thomas Train. Apparently, the "take along" trains are smaller, with a narrower wheel base than the traditional wooden Thomas set, and won't fit into the grooves on the wooden Thomas Tracks. They have their own "take along Thomas" tracks. So, I was disappointed when we got them, since we already have a ton of wooden track, and I'm trying to avoid having three different sets of trains and tracks. But if it is the take-along Thomas set you are looking for, then go for it. These two are very economical and durable.
