Sturdy and powerful but not so versatileAug 17, 2004
By Bryan Jensen The Dozer is one of the less useful construction vehicle within the Rokenbok world, and my main reason for limiting my rating of the vehicle. The bonus recycling center adds to the value of the vehicle, and integrates well into a Rokenbok setup as far as processing the red and blue balls. The sorting feature of the barrels (set comes with 20 barrels) is cute but of little use, as there are no additional Rokenbok accessories for processing barrels, aside from the warehouse that comes with the Forklift vehicle. And in that case, that set comes with all the barrels you need. The Rokenbok system is about moving and sorting balls, so the recycling center is a moderate value as an addition to your Rokenbok world.
Where we have found the dozer excels is in vehicle-to-vehicle battles. It's tread and low to the ground design makes it useful for tipping over your enemy. And this is a natural way to want to play with the Rokenbok vehicles, even with Rokenbok offering a battle area as an Internet store exclusive. If this more competitive side of Rokenbok play interests your child then add the Dozer to your collection. Otherwise for construction play I'd recommend the Power Sweeper , Monorail or Forklift first.

Dozer can be a useful vehicle if used correctlyNov 30, 2009

My kids really like this little dozer.
I disagree with the poster who said this vehicle has little use. It can be very useful if you design your buildings to take advantage of its strengths. One method of integrating the dozer is to limit vehicle access to the ball elevator and put the green dozer ramp right up next to it. Essentially it becomes the dozer's job to load the elevator. This way your kids can work as a team to keep the balls moving. The dumptruck or train can unload in a ball pen area where the dozer can work.
Remember, the dozer has treads. It can overcome obstacles (like beams) that would prohibit access of wheeled vehicles. Another under utilized feature of the dozer is it's ability to corral stray balls in the work area. One of the action buttons lifts and lowers the dozer blade which allows stray balls to be trapped beneath the dozer. You can then reposition the ball by driving around on flat surfaces. Aside from the sweeper, it's the only vehicle that can perform cleanup duty.
