4A Great Toy - But be Sure You Have the Starter Set!Oct 23, 2002

This really is a great toy. I purchased it for my 4 year old daughter and she LOVES it! The toy allows her to remotely control the vehicle, make it's forklift arm go up and down, move barrels and bins around, and more. The bonus warehouse really is a great bargain and adds a lot to the enjoyment.

However, it's important to note that we had already purchased the starter set which included the remote base station, 2 controllers, and all the other stuff you need to make the vehicles go. If you don't have any of this stuff, then this toy by itself won't be of any use to you. If you do have the starter station already, then the RC Forklift is a great addition to a fun and educational toy that can provide hours of fun for your family.

5A fun additionNov 23, 2002

We recently purchased the forklift to go with our growing collection. Do be warned however, it is NOT a start set and there is no controller. We however, have two. As always, as soon as we get a new truck, my 4 year old will not let anyone esle drive it. Be that as it may, the warehouse goes nicely with the rest of our set and provides a challenge to place all the bins on the racks. It seems nicely constructed and has taken two falls rather well. The yellow definitly stands out from the rest of the vehicles and is fun. Overall, we have enjoyed this new addition and were actually awaiting it's release.

5Lots of funDec 31, 2003

Added this and the sweeper to our Rokenbok collection and it was a hit. Everyone wanted to "be" the forklift. Already had the warehouse from the crane set so this made a cool mini-warehouse. Very easy to control and the action of the lift is really neat. Also apparently the big red circle with the slash through it on the box that indicates no base station & controller, the "Plus Any Start Set" on the bottom, or the list of what's included in the box are not clear enough for adults not visually impaired, so FYI there isn't a controller or base station included with the forklift. Oh, and no batteries either :)

5rc forkliftJan 11, 2003

I got the rcforklift for Christmas I love it. I like how it can take the containers off the racks. I also have the Rok works starter set and the monarail. When you put them together it makes it funer becuse you can dump the balls that you pickup from the dozer and put them in the containers. some times the forklift will stop and you have to shake it other than that i give it five stars.

4Fun But Need More StuffJan 10, 2009
By Cynthia Manuel
Our 6 yr old got a start set for xmas so we decided to get this add-on for his 4 yr old brother who would surely want to play too. He loved it but after about 15 minutes of play it (the forklift) stopped working. We tried replacing batteries, changing controllers, etc. to no avail. Not good for a loved toy to break on xmas day! However, I called Rokenbok the next day and no questions asked we had a new one delivered to us at home 2 working days later. No apologies on their part which I found a little odd but that's ok. The second one has been working fine for several weeks.

These toys are wonderful but be prepared to sink alot of money into them if you want to keep the kids interested. You need a start set before anything else. Then each kid needs a controller (so siblings should each get one as well as an extra for a friend or parent to play). Also, each start set only connects 4 controllers (so more than four players will require another one). There should be at least one vehicle per controller. Then you need spare building pieces to move around your work site. Most of the sets come with just enough pieces to build whatever the set is with nothing left over. The kids, especially the 6 yr old that the toy was geared toward, tired quickly of moving around balls (Roks) and palates. Even on sale I spent about $250 for the Monorail Metropolis Start Set, a second controller, the Crane and this Forklift set. So we have a start set, controller for each kid (2), the monorail, forklift and crane. But they are already bugging me for a third controller (so dad or I can play too) and building pieces. I am looking on Ebay for used stuff to add because these things new are very expensive. So far they seem pretty durable and haven't been terrible battery suckers (you'll need alot of these to get started too). Unfortunately Rokenbok does not seem to offer many cheaper add-on options (you have to buy expensive sets instead of individual accessories) or mixed lots (ex. you can only buy packs of a single kind of building part). Right now the kids can spend more time building with a set of Legos that are a fraction of the price. I've invested so much in them that we'll get some more and then decide. They are a really fun toy for kids who love building, rc, trucks and trains. Just make sure you are willing to spend alot.
