I recently purchased the On-the-go game and the cards are the same size as the regular game and the expansion pack. I thought it was worth noting as I couldn't find this information anywhere online. Hope this helps!

The title of this review was on one of the red cards in this game. It's definitely a fun game to have around, and with this easy-to-carry, portable version, you can take the fun wherever you go.
I feel that the words on these cards are more random than the original game, but I think that it makes it a lot more fun. With the original, sometimes I'd get stuck with really boring cards that I wouldn't be able to get rid of.
The swear word the previous reviewer mentioned might have been in reference to the Austin Powers movie character, Fat Bastard, who is indeed a topic of a red card. And while it may not be suitable for that particular person's child, I still think that it makes it funny. Plus it was a name, so does it really count?
I think that the age is alright; the cards really appeal to teens (or at least high school and college students for sure) so 12+ is an appropriate age because by that time, I'm pretty sure that they would just find it more funny. My friends and I do.

I really love playing Apples to Apples, especially with my close friends (since you know how they think). I enjoy the travel packaging (it's smaller than the regular game box and has a little handle, not that I use it) but I didn't realize it had so many fewer cards than the regular game (my friends and I went through all the cards after a weekend of play). Had I known, I would have purchased the original game instead. In the future I will probably buy the regular game and put it in this smaller box easier for travel. I would recommend buying the regular sized game instead of this one. This To Go version only has one deck of green cards and two decks of red cards.

Apples to Apples is the be all end all game for any occassions- true, some of the subject matter that comes out of this version of the game may not be suitable for children, it gives great new cards and variation to the Wooden box version of Apples to Apples.

When I first heard about this game I was thinking that it would be a boring one as there didnt seem much to it. However, we had a group of about 10 playing and it was hysterical and SO much fun!! Everyone loved it, even the guys who hate to play games! We were sorry to see it end and had so many laughs! I've played the party box and that has many more cards. If you go through the ones in this game, you are done. I hope they have new cards only that you can buy and add (dont know if they do or not-haven't looked). But, this is easy to transport. I also wish that there could be a version for less people required to play. I dont always have that many people that can get together and play, unfortunately !
We played with adults and children and it was a blast for all!!
