 Lots of stuff to paint, good qualityJan 16, 2011

You have enough here for a couple friends to paint at a fun playdate, or for one child to have several different painting activities. My five year old does about one piece a week and that means we've gotten quite a few weeks of painting fun out of this. (Enough handmade birthday gifts for all the grandparents and more, because who wouldn't treasure a piece of handpainted art made by a five year old??? Wait...don't answer that. )

I purchased this for my 9 year old great niece, and she loved it! She was so excited to paint the items, she had them all done in just a few days. I will definitely look for more of these items for her next birthday!

The porcelain/paint are good indeed but the "heart cup" and "picture frame" look really cheap and cheesy -- throw them out and you get a decent product, but I would buy porcelain cups and paints separately if I had to do it again.

We got three packs for my daughter's 8th birthday party and is was a real hit. The girls loved to paint their own mug or plate or picture frame (no one wanted to paint the vase for some reason). The paints and paint brushes included were adequate for the job. The hardest part is getting the pieces out of the plastic container (they are squeezed in so tight that it sometimes took a couple of minutes just to get one piece out!). Also, in two of the three packs they taped the silver heart jewelry box lid to the plastic which left sticky tape residue all over the lid. A little Goo Gone took care of it, but still it is pretty thoughtless packaging. But the girls had fun which is all that matters. The one boy at the party -- 6 years old -- wanted nothing to do with this.
