 Fun and cute but not at all durable.Oct 08, 2011

With this toy, you get ten different animals that are each comprised of at least three different pieces. The pieces attach to one another by means of notches. The pieces are made of thick cardboard.
I would say 8 of the 10 animals worked nicely out of the box. The two remaining, octopus and chicken, were defective by design. The chicken is the sole animal in the set that, by design, can't stand up once assembled. The octopus body attaches to three sets of arms but the notches are too shallow to stay put so once assembled, if you try to pick up the octopus, it falls completely apart.
With the other 8 animals, initial assembly went well. My son, who is 2 yrs 9 mo, struggled at first with the concept but after an initial run-through was able to piece most of the animals together on his own. Now, after two or three uses, almost all of the notches are getting worn enough that they're almost all too loose and don't stay assembled as nicely as they initially did. This problem will of course render the toy useless within a pretty brief period of time.
Disappointed with the durability and on that basis can't really wholeheartedly recommend.

I gave this as a gift and to my knowledge it has not been used so don't have first hand feedback. It is colorful and appears to be sturdy. I gave it to a 2 year old who love zoo animals.
