My daughter has been trying to figure out how to make things using the candy wrapper technique. This kit was perfect. She's already made 2 bracelets and there are plenty of materials to make several more. She only wishes they would make a kit that would let you make a coin purse.

My daughter loves doing eco-crafts - making things out of our recycling and whatnot. This is a perfect extension to that - it comes with the materials to make a bunch of things, but the nice thing is that she can then apply the same ideas to recycled materials she gets around the house. She loves looking for new materials to make things out of - wondering what this or that will look like as a bracelet when she's done.
Warning - your child may not let you throw things out anymore and will want to keep an inordinate amount of trash around because she wants to use it to make things!

I love the idea of recycling and reusing materials, but this kit falls short. I remembered making gum wrapper chains when in grade school and thought this would be a great gift for my granddaughter.
* The paper is too "slick" and doesn't hold the folds. There's glue and a burnisher included, but that adds a lot of steps. Fold. Burnish. Glue. Fold again. Glue again.
* The glue didn't stick! In fact, the instructions recommend putting the folded pieces UNDER A BOOK or heavy object to help flatten them.
The kit could be improved by using a matte or dull paper that is a little thinner.
I plan to return it.

I bought this for a birthday gift for a 8 year old. It was a hot ticket and you could see it was going to be a good craft item when she opened it. It looks like the kind of gift that girls (or crafty boys) could spend a whole afternoon being occupied with doing. Not too messy either.
