My Son Loved This - But Yes, It Is a CraftNov 30, 2011
By L. Erickson
"Mommy Mystic"
My 5-year old son loved this project, but yes (per the prior reviewers note) it is a craft project, not an electronic robot. It will roll if you push it, but is more of a display item. I thought that was clear by the description though, so I wasn't expecting anything else. As a craft project it is a really fun one for young boys, as it also involves some plastic bolts and assembly, in addition to coloring and stickers. So it is kind of a combination beginning model/craft. Definitely meant for young boys, I would say preschoolers could handle it with parental help, and 5 - 7 can do it by themselves.

Not worth the priceNov 30, 2011
By Selina Mandar When the robot arrived, I was surprised to see that it is 90% cardboard with a few plastic pieces, markers and stickers. More like a craft project than a toy. Definitely not worth the price, in my opinion. At half the price, it still wouldn't be worth it.
fun craft projectMar 28, 2012
By jumpup31 the Alex build and Roll Robot craft project is an awsome (toy). It is made of cardboard so if played with to much a child may mess it up. the robot is fun to put together, my son likes to take all his toys apart so i thought he would like this.
One very happy nephew.Jan 03, 2012
By Stefani O. My very intelligent four year old nephew fell in love with this the moment he unwrapped it. When he got it home he put it together and took it apart four times in the first day he had it, and from what I've heard he's been playing with it regularly since Christmas. For cardboard, it's pretty sturdy. Definitely a good gift for a kid who likes to assemble things.
